Deacon's Daughter
It is the year of our Lord, XX14. Humanity is under attack by demons. Nobody saw this coming. Our only hope lies in Priestess, a girl turned magic superweapon created by an organization that calls itself Neo-Vatican. Powered by the lifeforce of death row inmates, she will lead us to victory.
How her own father wound up as one of those inmates is anybody's guess.
A short deckbuilding roguelike sort of game with a mana system tied to the HP of one of your two party members, and a combat system all about placing tiles in the right slots.
Made for the 14th Magical Girl Game Jam. Pretty much everything made on jam time save for: the taking of the background photos, the BGM, and bit of general code taken from another project.
Due to a variety of circumstances I didn't have as much time to work on this as I might have liked. Evidently. I think I like the concept for the game, though, such that I may work on it more in the future. Let me know with a comment and not a brick through my window if you would also like to see this idea made less horribly jank.
(I'm gonna level with you: some of the tile logic might not work as I didn't have the time to thoroughly test it all. Please let me know if anything's broken and I can update it in a timely fashion.)
Known issues:
- "Can We Get Much Higher" doesn't work and also has too long a title. Go figure.
- Final boss maybe impossible? Definitely overtuned it. It was 5 AM or so. My soul was sick and twisted at that time.
